The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the economic performance of the communications industry from January to March 2019. The report shows that the growth rate of telecom business revenue continued to slow down. In the first quarter, the revenue of telecom services totaled 332.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 1.0%. The growth rate dropped by 4.1 percentage points year-on-year, down by 0.9 percentage points from January to February. .
The report pointed out that fixed Internet broadband access users are accelerating to high-speed migration, and the proportion of 100-megabit broadband users is increasing.
As of the end of March, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 423 million, with a net increase of 15.73 million in January-March. Among them, there are 384 million fiber-optic access (FTTH/O) users, accounting for 90.8% of the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users.
Broadband users continued to migrate to high-speed, and fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 100 Mbps and above reached 310 million, accounting for 73.7% of the total number of users, accounting for an increase of 3.4 percentage points from the end of the previous year.
As of the end of March, fixed broadband access users with 100Mbps and above in the East, Central, West and Northeast regions reached 142.19 million, 75.2 million, 74.79 million and 19.86 million, respectively, accounting for the proportion of fixed Internet broadband access users in the region. They were 74.8%, 74.9%, 70.1%, and 76.5%, respectively.
The difference in the proportion of fixed broadband access users between 100 Mbps and above continued to shrink. Tianjin, Qinghai, Ningxia, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Henan and Shanxi ranked the top seven, accounting for more than 80%.
